KORN Guitarist Is Looking Forward To Connecting With EVANESCENCE Prior To FAMILY VALUES
March 27, 2007Launch Radio Networks reports: KORN held an online "meet-and-greet" with fans last night (Monday, March 26) to announce the lineup of this summer's Family Values tour. As previously reported, EVANESCENCE will co-headline, with HELLYEAH, ATREYU, TRIVIUM and 2006 alumni FLYLEAF all confirmed to appear in more than 30 cities on the tour route. Exact dates, venues and additional acts were slated to be announced soon.
KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told Launch that his band and EVANESCENCE will have a chance to get to know each other better when they play some European festivals before Family Values kicks off. "It will be nice to get acquainted with them and their band, although we have done some shows with them a couple of years ago," he said. "But now that we know we're gonna be touring this summer, I think we'll extend a little bit more hospitality towards one another and kind of get to know everybody, and just become familiar with everybody and the way everything works so that we can accommodate each other on tour."
The virtual conference took place at VirtualKorn.MTV.com, with computer-generated avatars of the band members fielding questions from fans.
Last year's Family Values package was the first since 2001 and featured DEFTONES, STONE SOUR, 10 YEARS and others in addition to KORN. A CD and DVD of the tour came out in late December.
EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee recently performed "Freak on a Leash" with KORN at the band's "MTV Unplugged" taping.
KORN is recording its eighth studio album now for a summer release.
